Patriots welcome new Buffalo ownership with a Loss

The New England Patriots handed Buffalo and their new ownership a 37-22 loss (get used to it buddy). The line protected Brady very well yesterday, and in doing so, Brady was able to put up great numbers. Brady ended the game going for 27-37 for 361 Yds 4 TD’s and 0 INT’s. He was perfect in the second half going 15/17 for 274 YDs in the second half alone.. The running game was off yesterday and it was surprising how many play action plays we were still able to fool them with. Brady had a couple bombs that he was able to drop into triple coverage to LaFell for a 56 yd TD.  Brady is now 22-2 in his career against the Bills. In other words, it doesn’t matter who is signing the Bills payroll checks, they are still going to be dominated by us…

10 Receivers caught balls for the Patriots yesterday making it a great all around performance by the receiving team. Edelman and Gronkowski led the way in receptions.

It looks like Mayo and Ridley are going to be out for quite a bit of time so it’ll be interesting how things work out going forward. Mayo who leads the team in tackles, was knocked out of the game with an apparent leg injury. Last year he got knocked out in week 6 and the same this year…  The Patriots always prepare for this kind of thing and their “next man up” routine hopefully keeps them where they need to be. I do expect Vereen, who is usually the 3rd down back, to get a few more carries if Ridley remains out.

In the words of Gronk, the Patriots played a great job!

With this weeks win, the Patriots (4-2) gained sole possession of first place in the AFC East. They take on the Jets in a quick turnaround game Thursday Night Football at Gillette.  They have two games coming up that they should win (Jets and Bears), then the bye week, then things get tough… (Denver, Indy, Detroit, Green Bay, San Diego)..

PS: I hope the new Buffalo strategy is more dynamic than their owners in booth interview.. Holy shit…
