Celtics take on the Heat at the Garden tonight in a key playoff seeding matchup

Milwaukee’s key buzzer beater last night against the Miami Heat set up a match up tonight that could allow the Celtics to tie the Heat for the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference. Miami, just one game ahead of the Celtics came off a tough buzzer beater loss last night on a saved ball that was going out of bounds to a wide open Khris Middleton who drained the 3 to beat the Heat.   Miami has lost its first 2 games on its current 4 game road trip and on a back to back the Celtics are in great position to tie the Heat for the 7th seed.

The Celtics also with some great news are expecting PG Isaiah Thomas back tonight which will provide a huge spark to this Celtics team who are trying to make a late push towards the playoffs. Boston acquired Thomas from Phoenix for Marcus Thornton at the Feb. 19 trade deadline, and he instantly provided a spark. The 5-foot-9 guard has scored at least 20 points in eight of 10 games with the Celtics and has averaged 23.5 over his last four after netting 25 in a 100-90 win over the Heat on March 9. Boston was 2 1/2 games out of contention heading into the last meeting with the Heat (32-38), who are now one game ahead of the Celtics in seventh.

Tip off is tonight at 7:30PM

Khris Middleton’s 3 point buzzer beater reminds me of Ray Allen’s buzzer beater against the Bobcats 7 years ago. I remember watching this game live. Miss that team…
