Bruins win home/season opener over Flyers

The Boston Bruins beat the Philadelphia Flyers in the home/season opener Wednesday night at TD Garden. The Bruins Had goals from Reilly Smith and Chris Kelly, who broke a 1-1 tie late in the 3rd period.

The Bruins looked and played great last night. Reilly Smith I think is going to have a great year, and last night it seemed every scoring chance, he was involved. I wouldnt be surprised if he ends up being a 35+ goal scorer. Especially being on the first line with Bergeron and Marchand.  That line can easily end up being one of the best in the NHL.

Bobby Robbins also made Bruins fans quickly forget about Shawn Thornton with his physical presence on the 4th line. The 32 Year old rookie picked up almost where Thornton left off with the physicality including a 2nd period fight.

Tuukka Rask also had a great game. 1 one goal he gave up was on a deflection off Carl Soderberg that he had no chance at.  He stopped 19 of 20 shots for his first win of the year and he is now 7-1-1 against the Philadelphia Flyers in the regular season.

The Bruins played without C David Krejci last night who is out until Monday with an undisclosed injury. The Bruins head to Detroit Thursday night to take on the Redwings.
